CEWS Conference
Research, rhetoric and reasoned discussion were all features of the Council for Education in World Citizenship Conference - a model United Nations General Assembly Meeting held at County Hall, Carmarthen.

The dark shadow of September 11th still hung over the proceedings as Katie Williams, Emily Pullham and Pearl Newton represented South Africa and Jack Felton, David Ellis and Adam Painter spoke for Croatia. The council intelligently, yet sensitively debated
resolutions proposed by Afghanistan related to the refugee crisis in their country and the wider world. In the afternoon, Brazil highlighted poverty in the city.

All the members of the two delegations left the chamber feeling rather older and wiser about serious international affairs.
