Art Year 9 Information
Pupil groupings
Pupils are taught in mixed ability groups except for those who have particular special needs.
What is taught
Autumn Term: Developing and exploring with materials; pattern making; Special effects on the computer etc. to be used to decorate 3D forms.
Spring Term: Studying the work of 2 Welsh Landscape artists- Kyffin Williams and Mary Lloyd Jones.
Summer term: Start GCSE syllabus - allowing pupils to choose a theme for further development.

Fortnightly homework based on projects.
Artists studies - allowed further time -(depending on project criteria)
How progress is assessed
* Work is assessed formally each half term by pupil assessment sheet and self assessment. (Marks recorded on these sheets).
* End of unit test given at end of each term to assess understanding
and skills.
* Summer Exam based on 2
tests:
a) drawing exam b) theory exam
