Pupil groupings
Pupils are taught in mixed ability groups except those who have particular special needs.
What is taught
All pupils study the same topics, based on the standard text book, "Route Nationale 1". Topic 1 covers "Introductions",
Topic 2 deals with "Family" and numbers up to 20. Topic 3 is about "Animals" and numbers up to 100 while topic 4 is on
"activities". "Birthday, presents and dates" are covered in Topic 5, "Food and Drink" in Topic 6.

preparing for a speaking assessemt or a written task.
How progress is assessed
Four tests at the end of each unit address the four key skill areas: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Each test is
marked out of 10. Pupils will have a record of their test marks on the inside cover of their execise book.
