French Year 8 Information
Pupil groupings
Classes 8N / 8G -2 sets
Classes 8O / 8M / 8P - 3 sets
Special Needs classes are taught separately.
What is taught
Mainstream classes use
a) the Route Nationale 1 textbook (units 7.8.9,10):- talking about your town, asking
and giving directions; French money ; telling the time, arranging to meet ; talking about
transport , travelling by train and bus; holidays and weather.
b) Route Nationale 2 (units 1,2,3):- describing your town, your ideal town, house, rooms ;
pastimes; talking to a French family.
Special Needs classes use the
a)Route Nationale *Extra* I textbook (units 7,8,9,10)
b) Route Nationale *Extra* 2 (units I ,2)
(subject matter as above)
Homework
Minimum of one per week based on writing or learning.
How progress is assessed
Assessment in 4 skill areas at end of each unit of course covered.
Stickers inside front cover records marks scored in each unit.

ICT lessons once a fortnight.
