Pupils are taught in mixed ability groups except for those who have particular
special needs.
What is taught
Study unit 2 - Wales and Britain in the Early Modem World c. 1500- c. 1760.
Pupils are taught about the major political and religious changes which shaped the period.
1. The impact of the Tudors - personalities and powers of the Tudor monarchs, religious change, the union of England and Wales.
2. Monarch and Parliament in conflict - the Civil Wars.

Homework is set on a regular basis as a way of enhancing pupils' independence by developing research strategies and study skills.
How progress is assessed
Progress is assessed using a range of tasks and activities. Tasks are marked using 'levels of response' schemes which lead to a final judgement on the Key stage 3 level at the end of year.
