Jaguar Competition

Move over Ferarri, Williams and Jaguar, enter

"Team Bryngwyn".

They may not make it to this years Formula 1 championship but these pupils from the Technology department at Bryngwyn School in Dafen may be the next generation in F1 racing.

The competition, run by Jaguar, requires teams of up to six students to design and race their own model F1 car. The model is designed in school on a computer aided design package and manufactured by e-mailing the design to the County Technology Centre in St Clears where the pupils may see their cars being made by video conferencing facilities.

Having worked extremely hard to get their computer aided designed car up and running in time for the 2004 South Wales regional finals, the "Dafen Dragsters" were very proud to win the award for the best engineered car in South Wales. The car also came second in the time trials, losing out to a lighter car by a tenth of a second !

The team would like to thank Motormend and Manhattan Marketing for their kind sponsorship.
