Modern Foreign Languages Department Year 10 Information
Everyone recognises the cultural and educational benefits of learning a modern foreign language. Everyone in Bryngwyn has the chance to learn French or Spanish.
French still has historic importance, but Spanish is now recognised as one of the most widely spoken languages in the world.
All pupils are involved in enjoyable and challenging activities and encounter a range of media such as T.V. and video, listening stations, books and magazines.
The G.C.S.E. course is designed not for any particular ability, but for all pupils, whatever their ability.
There is an element of coursework required at GCSE. 5 written assignments undertaken in class are required which replace the written examination in June. There will be examinations in Speaking, Listening and Reading.
A* - E grades are attainable at Higher Tier.
C- G grades at Foundation Tier.
