A serious consideration when making a decision regarding future 'options' is the contribution of a specific subject to the pupils' full develoopment as individuals and as memebrs of society. also the subject needs to be persobnally satisfying and stimulating as well as being a means of preparation for higher education and a future career.

Religious Studies adequately meets these important considerations. Amongst other things, the subject aims to introduce pupils to the challenging and varied nature of religion and helps them to identify and explore questions about the meaning of life as well as enabling them to recognise and appreciate the contribution of religion in the formation of patterns of belief and behaviour - which is vital in understanding the growth and development of our culture and society.
